AT THE FOREFRONT OF O-PROJECT IS IT’S GRASS ROOF THAT ENVELOPES THE UNITS AND CREATES A COHESION WITH NEIGHBOURING GREEN SPACE. THE STRUCTURE PROMOTES COMMUNAL LIVING, AS IT CONTAINS A SHARED GARDEN, DINING AND STUDY SPACES WHERE NEIGHBOURS CAN INTERACT AND FORM RELATIONSHIPS. THE SLOPING DESIGN OF THE ROOF MEETS THE GROUND AND PROMOTES CIRCULATION IN AND OUT OF THE GARDEN, WHERE ONE CAN WALK, RUN OR CYCLE. O-PROJECT PROMOTES LOCAL GARDENING AND ENCOURAGES THOSE LIVING THERE TO GROW THEIR OWN PRODUCE. THIS STRUCTURE STRIVES TO REACH NET-ZERO ENERGY THROUGH IT’S THERMAL GREEN ROOF, GEOTHERMAL HEATING, GREYWATER HARVESTING, PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR PANELS, AS WELL AS A MULTITUDE OF PASSIVE ENERGY SAVING STRATEGIES; INCLUDING A THERMAL ROOF, AIRTIGHT WINDOWS AND A ROOF OVERHANG TO BLOCK SUN IN WARM MONTHS. One can also choose to continue along a path that cuts through the central garden and leads to a large green space and public park behind the complex. The surrounding neighbourhood is very lively, surrounded by several shops, restaurants and commercial facilities. Each unit overlooks the community garden, with the abillity to open up their homes to the garden through large sliding doors.
